It is located 99 km from Ancud and 20 km from Castro. It is on a gradient of a hill where there are three terraces, which gives the city the nickname of the three floors. It is characterized by typical product sales, including golden liquor, enguindados and sweet breads known as 'roscas chonchinas'. In the month of February there is the Chonchi Creole Festival. Its buildings are made of cypress wood and painted in bright colors, which makes this a nice place to visit.
